In the late 80s, Sinochem Ningbo decided to expand its export business. The company already sold inorganic chemicals in Asia but decided to try selling agrochemicals as well. The demand was so great that it shifted to agrochemicals as the main product. When it first started, the company supported clients with registrations in several countries such as Spain, Italy, Greece, and Thailand. In 2001, the company established an overseas registration team to submit hundreds of product registrations for global clients every year and has become one of the first Chinese companies to develop the agrochemical market in Latin America. In just a few years, its export volume grew from less than $1 million to more than $10 million.
